Shirley and I were cousins who knew each other from before 1st grade until we graduated from HS. It seemed like we were forever in the same class. We were members of the baby boomers and we used to play at each other's house all the time. Shirley came to live with us for a time after her father died. At that point she became more like a sister. We always had a special relationship and she was there at one of my most unforgettable trips to Liberal KS. Like most folks,we went our separate ways after HS but for a while remained in some contact. Then that slowly became no contact. She married, had a son, Coleman, and divorced. She worked for Southwestern Bell Tele until retirement somewhere around 2000 or so. She carried baggage of many things that had not gone well in her life and combined with other problems, it all culminated in her death on23 Oct 2015. Rest in Peace cousin, I still miss you.
